Building and Recreation
Building and Recreation is responsible for the Town Hall, Old School and parks within Llantwit Major
This committee is made up of all the Town Councillors and looks at and deals with issues concerning the various buildings and land owned by the town. A separate committee is held for this purpose about 4 times a year, or when necessary, freeing up time on the Full Council agenda. The Chair and Vice Chair are elected by the Town Councillors each year, currently the Chair is Eric Hacker and the Vice Chair is Jeff Evans.
The Town Council is currently undertaking repairs and maintenance to the Old School and the Town Hall, both Grade 2 listed and requiring extensive and expensive work. We have recently finalised a licence with the Rugby Club for the use and maintenance of the pitches at the Recreation field.
